I received overwhelming response to my original post, “What would you tell your plebe self?”So many of you replied with tales of wisdom sprinkled with a bit of wit (I always love a witty response).

Therefore, I knew I had to share your words with my students. So, I did.

Their eyes grew wide as I shared your comments ranging from “It’s going to be just fine” to “you are entering a world that eventually will be more amazing than you possibly imagine” to a reminder by former SECNAV Ken Braithwaite that they will be creating history.

By the time I got home from class, one of my students reached out to me to ask if she could share YOUR words with someone who needed an extra boost. “Of course,” I responded then sent her this link to my original post.

Again, thank you all for your tremendous responses. And I offer a special call out to a classmate of mine who shared his personal “dixie cup” story directly with me. It is an amazing story of connection and compassion through the years. Chris your story needs to be told but it is not mine to share.

Powerful questions provoke powerful responses as you have demonstrated through your response to my blog posts. My new favorite coaching question is “and, what else?”  Looking back, “and what ELSE” might you share with the next generation?

Please know when you share your stories with me, YOU are helping to build the leaders of tomorrow.

Fly high,

Barbara
