This month my husband and I were honored to share our story with the local Annapolis community through Annapolis Living Magazine. Publisher Faith Burns #gottahavefaith (don’t you love that hashtag!) approached us several months ago asking if we would be willing to share our story. “Of course,” we responded.
Faith began publishing Annapolis Living in May 2024. Her mission is to strengthen the connections in our community by sharing real life, family focused stories. In turn, local businesses sponsor the magazine because they want to make a positive impact and expand their reach in the community. We all benefit.
In today’s leadership circles we often speak about vulnerability and leading with empathy. But what does this look like in practice? Sometimes it is as simple as sharing your story.
Sharing our personal stories connects us more deeply to our communities AND to the work we do in both our personal and professional lives.
As we shared our story with Faith, she reflected a wonderful title back to us – “Anchored in Purpose.” Yes, we are. Together Greg and I are working to develop the next generation of leaders for our community, the Navy and, just maybe, our world.
